2025 NSW Mid North Coast & Hunter Floods
T is a single female with 5 children, 4 under the age of 16, moved into her elderly mother's home to help care for her after her elderly mother had a series of surgeries. T moved all her family into her mother's home. which was not insured due to the costs She had nearly set up the home but had not quite finished putting things in the home which she had left in the lock up shed on the property. The flood hit the island and the lock up shed was inundated with water. T has had to throw away most of the items in the shed. She has replaced some things with the help of a local community group. However, she lost her daughters beds and mattresses as she was still setting up their room. She has requested a bunkbed for her two daughters that she has identified as being available at BIG W at around the cost of about $400 along with 2 single mattresses for the beds along with some new linen for the beds. T did not have any insurance on the items due to the costs being so high.
