He has no one who can help him with a grocery shop, lend money when emergencies arise, or assist with bills when something unexpected happens. This lack of a safety net means even a minor increase in rent, an essential medical appointment, or a fuel cost blowout can destabilise his entire week. The pressure of surviving without support, while trying to maintain recovery, is enormous. Financial stress is one of the highest relapse risks, and he is highly aware of this. He is doing everything he can to stay focused, stay employed, and stay healthy, but his basic cost-of-living needs now exceed what he can manage on his income.
