Their situation is further complicated by the very real threat of honor-based violence, making it unsafe for them to return to their community or extended family for support. One of her children lives with a lifelong disability, requiring care and specialized support. She is also navigating a high-risk pregnancy, adding significant medical and emotional strain to an already fragile situation. Language barriers make daily life even more difficult. She is unable to speak English and cannot advocate for herself in critical moments — yet she attends English classes with determination, hoping to build the skills she needs to protect and provide for her children. The family is struggling to meet even their most basic needs. They have no safe support network, and no financial stability.
