Mother of two fled PNG violence in 2023; after months homeless and no Centrelink, the family survives on charity alone

A mother with two young children came to Australia in 2023 to escape severe violence in Papua New Guinea. They fled after tribal conflict escalated & her husband was attacked by armed men. The family used their only funds to flee to safety. On arrival, the family spent approximately 18 months living in emergency and temporary accommodations. In December 2024, they were placed in stable housing, however the property has very limited furniture & unreliable whitegoods. Her husband completed a traineeship, but consistent work is difficult to find. He now picks up occasional shifts at a bakery, leaving the family struggling to pay rent. Due to their visa status, they are not eligible for Centrelink or other government support. Their savings are exhausted & they rely on charities & the kindness of strangers for food. She has been caring for the children, now aged 8 and 5, & feels extremely isolated. Any support we can offer this family would be greatly appreciated.
