A family is in disarray after the uncovering of sexual abuse of 2 teen's ages 13 and 14 year old in their own home. The family are living through hell, trying to deal with the trauma of the situation. The perpetrator has been taken into custody. The family are staying with relatives at the moment before they attempt to return to their home out on property which has been inundated by a plague of rats. Their home and the neighbors need to be cleaned out and furniture replaced due to damage done by the rodents while the house has been empty for the month.
The mother approached her community organisation for a NILS loan for items she desperately need replacing to try to reinstate her children's feeling of comfort and safety in their home once again. With the trauma of her current situation the worker felt a loan application was additional stress the mother does not need at this time. The family, unfamiliar with support avail in community as they have always been self-sufficient.
