Support for 12 year old boy experiencing homelessness with his grandmother
GIVIT
The support is requested for a 12-year-old boy, living in the care of his grandmother. The family have been homeless and couch surfing for 3 years since they lost their home, following the death of their grandfather. Due to lack of parental care and problematic AOD use, the young person is unable to live with their mother. He has experienced significant change throughout his short life, moving between various family members in different locations. Due to these adversities, he struggles to manage his emotional wellbeing. The young person finds the main outlet for his mental health is physical activities and being outside. He finds cycling particularly beneficial. Especially as this is an activity he can do with his grandmother and friends. He enjoys exploring his local area and having an increased sense of freedom and independence.
