Kenya mother has escaped DV with her 3 boys and has been living in a safe accommodation, has just got her own place.
Domestic & Family Violence
Kenya mother came to us needing support after she had been living in DV situation where her perpetrator was using cohesive control on her and she as there is language barriers and cultural barriers, she was not aware that she was being treated like this through DV as culturally she thought it was just what she had to do as wife! I have been working with her and getting her support around the DV and helping her to understand that it is not ok for her and her boys to be experiencing this treatment. She has been in alot of fear for her safety and had times been stalked by her perpetrator or his friends making hard for her to build her life again and try to move forward with her children. The accommodation that she has been staying in is only for women escaping DV with children however son's that are over 16 years of age are not allowed to stay in complex this has meant that her older son that is 19 years old, studying has had to live in separate accommodation.
