The client is a young single mother, currently 34 weeks pregnant, and the primary carer for her 8-year-old daughter. She has a complex history involving multiple experiences of homelessness and has recently fled a domestic violence relationship. The client also experiences severe depression and PTSD, largely stemming from past trauma related to her refugee background.
At present, the family is living in temporary accommodation at a motel and is at imminent risk of homelessness. She is struggling financially and is unable to cover essential expenses, including her daughter’s school tuition fees, clothing and necessities for the newborn, and other basic living costs.
Given her current circumstances, mental health challenges, pregnancy, risk of homelessness, and lack of stable support, the client requires urgent assistance to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both herself and her children.
