Recipient story

Bedroom storage to help support the mental health of young teenager.
GIVIT
Mum adopted daughter as a baby and travelled overseas to provide best life opportunity for daughter. Mum sadly lost her vision after a surgery to remove brain tumor which resulted in her being considered Legally Blind.

The mother is unable to work due to her Disability, but this does not stop her from trying her best to provide for her child. However, this is limited due to her only income being through NDIS and Centrelink.

Now her daughter is a young teen and struggling with mental health concerns. Through conversation the young girl noted that she has nowhere to store her clothes which has left her room cluttered which in turn affects her mental wellbeing. The young girl herself is diagnosed with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder which looks different day to day. A crucial role in keeping the young girl regulated is by having a tidy living space and currently this is not achievable due to lack of resources and financial pressures.
