She is a grandmother who has become the full-time carer for her five grandchildren, aged 3, 4, 6, 9 and 15. She is doing her best to provide a stable and loving environment, but the responsibilities of caring for all five children on her own have become overwhelming. Two of the younger children, aged 3 and 5, are diagnosed with autism, which requires additional emotional, physical and behavioural support throughout the day.
She lives in public housing and manages all household duties alone, including cooking, cleaning, school routines, and supporting the children’s complex needs. The ongoing pressure has caused a decline in her physical health, and she is experiencing increasing anxiety and depression. She is also coping with past trauma related to domestic violence, which adds further stress to her already challenging situation.
She has requested assistance with food, as feeding five growing children is becoming financially difficult. A food voucher would greatly relieve.
