Recipient story

Request for donations for Christmas time
GIVIT
Christmas 2025
Western Inpatient Psychiatric Unit is a 16-bed unit for women and gender diverse individuals. This is an acute mental health unit, support individuals who are struggling with their mental health and have usually experienced trauma, domestic violence, homelessness and are missing their kids and family environment. We recognise that being admitted to an inpatient unit can be scary and overwhelming, particularly for those people who have experienced trauma and violence.

Being admitted in an inpatient ward during Christmas is an overwhelming and emotional time for some of the women on the ward. We would like to create some Christmas themed activities for people to participate in to making Christmas themed gifts for family and friends. We would really love to be able to purchase some Christmas themed art/creative items such as painting christmas or gifts to provide patients on christmas morning eg self care, games, books
