Domestic & Family Violence

GIVIT
43yo indigenous woman who managed to leave her abusive husband in 2019 & travel interstate. Since then, she has had constant child custody battles which has resulted in her losing custody of her 10yo child. The financial strain that came with leaving her ex & fighting for custody of her child, left her homeless. She has since found accommodation in a housing commission house & is currently on Jobseeker. This has left furnishing the house a difficult task, with essentials like a working fridge and washing machine being overlooked. Before escaping her ex, she owned her own house, ran a business & had custody of her daughter. Now starting over is difficult & everyday feels like a battle for her, her mental health is especially suffering. She is still fighting for her daughter though & will never give up on her. She has a room for her at her house but needs essentials like a bed, clothing, & toys for her. Any help we can offer this brave woman would be greatly appreciated.

How it's helped before

I am writing to personally thank 'GIVIT' for a generous 'Simply Groceries eGift card' voucher that I was gifted, with $100 worth of essential spending money for my family & I to utilise at our own discretion. I can happily report this donation has assisted the purchase of a basic, solo, wifi security camera, with the excess going toward food for my teenage daughter who is currently taken on responsibilities around our home while I recover in a rehabilitation centre. Thank you for this kind gesture, as it has helped to improve security measures around our home & support my daughter to purchase daily essential items such as groceries, basic hygiene & cleaning products.

Thank you for your generous gesture & much needed support GIVIT.
