This family of four, with the mother and both children living with significant disabilities. Due to her caregiving responsibilities and her own health challenges, the mother is unable to work. The youngest child has complex needs, including a strict and specialised diet that is both difficult to source and financially burdensome.
The family is currently going through an especially difficult time after being impacted by Cyclone Alfred. The storm caused severe damage to their home, half of their gutters need replacing, and some of their essential medical equipment was destroyed. Ongoing heavy rainfall has also led to mould growth in their home, creating an unhealthy environment that is especially concerning given the family's medical needs.
