Recipient story

Proud Widjabul Wia-bal man eager to get back into the workforce after a tough few years.
First Nations Support
GIVIT
Ready to Learn
Despite a childhood marked by significant trauma - including neglect, abuse, profound loss, and periods of homelessness - this man has consistently demonstrated resilience, motivation, and a strong work ethic. He began working at just 14 years old, steadily progressing within his workplace. In his early 20s, he joined the army, further demonstrating his drive to create a stable and purposeful life.

Following a medical discharge from the Army due to injury and the loss of kin, he experienced a difficult period. However, he has since re-engaged with support services and is actively working to rebuild his life.

His primary goal now is to return to the workforce. He is passionate about undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship that will provide him with long-term stability and meaningful employment. More than that, he hopes to become a role model for others who have faced significant disadvantage - proof that with the right support and determination, change is possible
