Imagine being a young, single mother of 4 young children aged 12 months to 6 years old. Raising a young family in today's economic climate isn't easy at the best of times; let alone while caretaking on a rural property in an isolated area with no mode of transport, hot water or fridge/freezer.
She is piecing her life back together after her partner left due to substance abuse. Her trauma must weigh heavy on her shoulders but not as much as not being able to provide her children with basic necessities like food, clean water, hot showers and a stable home.
Her perseverance and openness to assistance will be key to creating a more stable life for her and her children.
