Family from primary homelessness in financial hardship due to storage and travel costs. Daughter starting high school
Family is participating in our homelessness program. The family entered homelessness when their private rental was sold, they then lived in bushland in a caravan and used all money to provide basic needs, money to move items from storage units. As the transitional housing property is currently under sized for the family, they still have the cost of the storage units. As a part of the program, we complete budgets. And the client is in financial hardship. Due to client being a carer she is currently unable to increase her income. The family have now moved into a permanent home and are starting to get their lives back on track, but are still in a similar position financially, without being able to increase their income due to restrictions regarding caring responsibilities and not able to work.
