Single woman, victim survivor of family violence with mental health issues in desperate need of household items.
Domestic & Family Violence
Victim survivor of family violence. She has lived in Public Housing for many years, originally with her elderly mother & son. In the last year she was hastily moved on from a three-bedroom house to a one-bedroom house to make room for another family. She was unable to advocate for herself and had to leave many of her belongings behind. Her mum is now living elsewhere and her son is couch surfing. She is living alone but hopes to have her mother live with her again. She is missing basic household items. She was provided with a mattress by DHHF but no bedframe. She is without a washing machine, fridge, toaster/kettle, vaccum cleaner, TV. She has been connected to our service since 2018, and has previously sought advocacy support around utility bills and housing. She is struggling with her mental health & is quite isolated. Help with the basic goods she needs will go a long way in helping her feel at home in her housing.
