Many people in our community rely on a local shelter as the only safe place they can go at night. Many arrive with almost nothing, no toothbrush, no soap, no deodorant, and no way to maintain basic hygiene. For some, the shelter is the one consistent place they return to, yet they still lack the everyday items most of us take for granted.
Living without these essentials affects physical health, confidence, and dignity. It also makes it harder for people to stabilise their lives, connect with services, and feel cared for during an already vulnerable time. By providing personalised hygiene packs that stay at the shelter for participants, we can offer comfort, consistency, and a small sense of ownership, something that can make a meaningful difference for someone who has very little stability.
