Mother and her 9-year-old son who have experienced complex trauma and abuse as a result of family violence. Recently moved from NSW and quite isolated in Melbourne, with no informal supports in place. Son is experiencing some mental health issues as a result of his past trauma and the death of his father. Son is making new friends and starting to feel connected at school but often makes comments that he feels " poor". This causes distress for his mum who wants him to feel " normal" and not different from the other kids at school. Son has asked for a Nintendo Switch for Xmas however mum cannot afford this (approx. $600). Mum would love to surprise her son with a special gift on Xmas morning.
