Christmas 2025
Mother defaulted on her private rental after rent was increased, and she could no longer afford to pay. Was then sleeping in one room with teenage children for quite some time.
Mother has worked well with SHS supporting her to maintain the tenancy and learning some life skills like budgeting, tenancy education and other skills. This has been difficult with the service-learning mother was illiterate and relied on children for support in this skill. Mother has worked hard with another service to learn basic reading and writing. Children are stable in their education but family in general struggle financially.
Mother has held down some work in her life but did not seem to last long in one job. Has now linked in with employment service to assist with skills to obtain a better long-term employment.
Family would benefit from assistance during the Christmas period.
