A First Nations woman is living in a very regional area, caring for her husband who has heart failure. They live in very basic conditions, using generators for power. They need to travel an hour each way for medical and specialist appointments. She also needs to travel approximately half an hour each way, twice a day for work. Employment in the region that they live is not easy to come by and she is struggling to maintain employment and be her husband's full time carer. Despite these challenges, they are made more stressful by having an unfit car to handle the high amount of driving necessary. Fear of a breakdown or fine are very real possibilities.
