Please help a homeless young couple with learning disabilities stay warm in their car this winter
GIVIT
Our young people, who have both been diagnosed with ASD some years ago, have been forced out into the street, & are living in their clapped out car on the side of a road. It has been this way for 2 years, ever since relationship breakdowns occurred in a town three hours away. They've been moving further south in the hopes of finding long term support & housing, & instead have found neither. Neither of our homeless young people have access to NDIS, as throughout their journey, they have had what meagre possessions they left with stolen. Everything they own fits into the boot of their car. Thankfully, with our help we have been able to connect them in with mental health support, & start the collection of ID documents to help with NDIS start-up. We have organised for a mobile youth accommodation service to meet with them to have their needs assessed- how long actual housing will take is anyone's guess, but it's a start. All we are seeking is support with a decent quilt & cover.
