Our client was homeless prior to the 2022 floods was referred to (MRNC). After referral to the SASH program for 6 weekly increments of Supports staff have tried to link him with NDIS. Gathering evidence for a diagnosis has been problematic and he has been shuffled among AMS and a variety of Neurologists and RSS case managers.
Our client was receiving Psychologist assistance in Casino however, the assistance has since concluded leaving him vulnerable with only MRNC and Mission Australia supporting him. He is 51 years old and of Indigenous background with history of mental health issues. He lives by himself in Evans Head and struggles to put food on the table for himself due to financial difficulties.
