Homeless man who came to Australia as a refugee now has a safe unit to live in but needs help getting it set up
GIVIT
Client has lived in Australia for 5 years and came as a refugee. He speaks a little bit of English but does not read or write English. He was initially living with his brother but he moved into a share house and his new flatmate said he would give him a job as an Uber driver. The client had to pay him $250 per week for housing and flatmate said he would help him with everything, including his finances. The client’s flatmate took advantage of the situation and stole his money and our client was not paid for wages working in the UBER.
The client did not have any money and when he came to our service and he was living in his car. Our service has supported him with housing but he now needs things like bed linen and small furnishings. We are requesting support with vouchers so our client has the autonomy to choose his own items - turning his unit into a home he loves.
