Domestic & Family Violence
At our tenancy assistance support program, we see firsthand just how difficult it can be for people to keep a safe and stable home. Every week, we run a walk-in service for people in the ACT who are experiencing tenancy challenges. Many of the people who come to us are highly vulnerable and facing multiple barriers that put them at risk of losing their homes, and in some cases, becoming homeless.
These barriers can include mental health episodes, family and domestic violence, no-fault evictions, family breakdowns, financial instability, illness or injury leading to changes in income or ability to work, disability, social isolation, and other complex life circumstances.
On top of these challenges, many are also experiencing severe financial hardship, struggling to cover the basics like rent, bills, and even food for their families.
To help ease this burden, we are hoping to provide small, practical financial aid directly through our walk-in service.
