Client is a 52-year-old single mother of three adult sons, all of whom struggle with alcohol and substance abuse issues, and a range of mental health diagnoses. Diagnoses relate to trauma and domestic violence, which the client and all three children were subjected to at the hands of client’s ex-husband’s – both of whom suffered from schizophrenia. To keep herself and her children safe, client has been forced to relocate to different states on several occasions. Over the past twenty years she has lived in three different states.
Client has been living in her current home for 2.5 years. She reports feeling isolated as her world is very small. She rarely leaves her house due to illness and mobility issues. Client is no longer able to drive and is reliant on a mobility scooter and other aids to move around.
Client suffers with a degenerative spinal condition, hydrocephalus and myelomalacia. Such conditions severely impact her movement, and cause ongoing migraine headaches.
