In the remote community of WA, two young sisters aged 21 and 18 are working hard to build a better future. They live independently and are seeking employment and training to support themselves.
Without a washing machine, they rely on extended family members who own machines but these are few and far between. Often, they’re told the machine is unavailable, or they must wait days to use it. This makes it difficult to keep their clothes clean, especially when attending job interviews, training programs, or community events. Not having one leads to feelings of isolation and reduced self-esteem.
This is a community where resources are limited and opportunities are hard-won, something as simple as clean clothes can make a huge difference.
These sisters aren’t asking for much. They’re not looking for luxury just a basic washing machine. Something that will help them take care of themselves, stay healthy, and feel proud as they step into the workforce.
