Family face ongoing challenges after son’s leukemia treatment in desperate need of grocery vouchers

Mum shared openly about the ongoing challenges her family has been facing since her young son completed cancer treatment. Her son was diagnosed with leukemia when he was younger and, while he has thankfully been in remission for since 2017, the effects of treatment continue to impact his day-to-day life.

He experiences ongoing fatigue, low mood, and changes in energy levels, which have become more noticeable recently as he’s had a growth spurt and lost some weight. These changes have made school attendance and emotional wellbeing more challenging, and his mum is worried about how best to support his mental health moving forward.

Both parents work full time and are doing everything they can to keep their family going, but the financial pressure has been significant. Large bills and the increasing stress of years of caring have begun to take a toll on mum’s own wellbeing. Despite this, she remains focused on advocating for her son and finding the right supports for him.
