Experiencing a lot of challenges due to health issues, trauma, disability, financial hardship; faced discrimination & abuse due to their sexual orientation. Became a victim of FDV & modern slavery offences. multiple health issues- frequent joint dislocations, chronic pain, severe fatigue which significantly impacts mobility, unable to stand for extended periods & reliant on a wheelchair for traveling. Utilise walking aids at home. NDIS does not provide coverage for this under current plan. The existing wheelchair is old which requires manual operation. sustained injuries in the incident when they were pushed by a group of individuals at a shopping mall causing a fall and experienced significant difficulty and delay in receiving assistance to regain an upright position. This highlights the daily challenges. An appropriate wheelchair would enable to utilise independently during period of severe pain & facilitate effortless loading and unloading. This would also grant autonomy & privacy.
