Recipient story

Children in out-of-home care need support as they face complex challenges from early trauma and deserve stability and hope.
Christmas 2025
GIVIT
Ready to Learn
The Therapeutic Kinship Care Program supports children and young people living with kinship carers such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings or close family friends. Many of these children have endured significant trauma, loss and instability in their early years, resulting in complex emotional and behavioural needs. Their carers provide love, safety and consistency, often while managing their own financial and emotional pressures, particularly in light of recent funding reductions affecting carers in out-of-home care.

As a newly established program, we are dedicated to helping children and carers rebuild trust, connection and hope for the future. Yet, Christmas can be an especially challenging time, heightening feelings of grief and stress. For many, it serves as a painful reminder of what has been lost. Your support can help transform this season into one of warmth, joy and belonging—reminding every child that they are seen, valued and cared for.
