A single father and his 13-year-old son are survivors of family violence. Both have experienced significant trauma and continue to manage PTSD and other mental health challenges.
The father is currently on a Disability Support Pension and works a few casual hours each week. Despite his efforts, their financial situation remains tight. They have been couch surfing for some time and have never had their own lease in the last few years, often relying on shared housing arrangements.
Through our program, the father is now working hard to establish a stable tenancy. He has been actively engaging with our team, planning to attend tenancy skills sessions, and exploring housing options with determination and hope for a fresh start.
They do not have enough furniture or white goods. They have been planning to save for these essentials once a tenancy is secured, but with limited income and the upcoming relocation, the costs are overwhelming. They will need a fridge and mattress
