Family of 4 who couldn't return to their home for 5 days lost everything in their home, their sheds as well as their cattle

Husband left home at 3.30am to milk cows. He was unable to get through so went home and organised the evacuation of his parents and in-laws on neighbouring properties and then his family. They tried to rescue the heifers but coudn't, and lost over 80 of them. They couldn't return to their house for 5 days. The water reached 1.5 metres inside. Everything in the house was lost as well as everything in the sheds. Since the disaster the wife is feeling absolutely devastated and struggling with how to rebuild their lives. She is finding it very hard to put into words, it feels very unreal.
