There are a number of ways you can help people impacted by flooding in North Queensland, Far North Queensland, Western Queensland & Southeast Queensland:

Donate money

You can donate money to the Queensland Disaster Appeal, or FUND an item or service directly by donating to a request. As new disasters occur, we'll launch appeals to allow you to donate to help Queenslands affected by that event.

100% of publicly donated money received by GIVIT's Queensland Disaster Appeal will be used to buy exactly what's needed by people in Queensland recovering from floods, bushfires, cyclones and storms.

Donate goods

GIVIT is the best way to donate items that are actually needed, and to ensure your item donation helps recovery rather than hinders it, which is often the case when people donated unrequested items.

You can see what items are needed by people recovering from disasters in Queensland by scrolling up this page to the list of requests. Click the GIVIT button if you're able to donate that item.

If you wish to donate items that you can't see requested, you can offer them for donation via our Online Warehouse. Once offered, charities registered with GIVIT will be able to view and claim your item, in which case you'll be put in touch with that organisastion. Please note that in some cases the items you've offered to donate may not be needed at this time.

Volunteer or donate time

Do you have a skill, a trade or a service that a recovery organisation may need? Or would you just like to help a charity by volunteering in administration, case work, marketing or transport? You may be able to volunteer in person or remotely. You can list your offer to volunteer in our Online Warehouse by completing this form.

Once offered, charities registered with GIVIT will be able to view and claim your volunteering or service offer, in which case you'll be put in touch with that organisation. Please note that in some cases your offer to volunteer your time and/or services may not be needed.

If your home or property has been flooded or damaged by bushfire, storm or cyclone, head to the Queensland Government's disaster recovery support page as a starting point.

To receive donated items or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with an organisation in your area that's providing disaster recovery support. This organisation will assess your needs, and can then place requests on GIVIT on your behalf. Head to our need help page and use the search functionality to find a relevant organisation near you.

Please note that there is no guarantee that these requests for assistance will be able to be met.

As of September 2025, GIVIT is working with the Queensland Government to help people across the state affected by the events of the 2024/2025 disaster season, including:

• Flooding that impacted widespread parts of Western Queensland in March and April 2025.
• Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which brought heavy rainfall, winds and flooding to parts of Southeast Queensland in March 2025.
• Floods that affected communities across North and Far North Queensland in February 2025.

Where needed, GIVIT is still supporting people impacted by past disasters, including ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily, 2023's Christmas and Boxing Day Storms in Southeast Queensland, flooding in 2023 from Tropical Cyclone Jasper, and in Northwest Queensland, and the devastating floods in 2022.

Organisations helping in recovery from flooding, storms, bushfires or cyclones in Queensland can register with GIVIT here. Once registered as a GIVIT partner organisation, you'll be able to access GIVIT's Online Warehouse, and request donated items or services for the people you're supporting.

There are donations needed by charities assisting in cyclone recovery. The best way for you to help people impacted by the cyclone is to donate to GIVIT’s Tropical Cyclone Alfred Appeal.

You can easily make an online donation towards people impacted by a recent flooding event by scrolling to the top of this page. There you’ll find links to specific flooding events in QLD where GIVIT is still providing donations of goods and services to people impacted.

Your donation to a recent QLD flood event will provide essential goods and services to people impacted by flooding. At the beginning of recovery people are returning home to every basic essential destroyed including food, clothing and medication. People can fund or give food, clothing and pharmacy vouchers so organisations supporting victims can purchase exactly what’s needed.
