This family of three fled the war in Ukraine to rebuild their lives in Australia. With no extended family or social support network, they have faced many challenges while settling into a new country.
Until recently, they lived in a small studio that was not suitable for a family. They have now moved into a more appropriate home but are starting again with almost nothing and are experiencing significant financial hardship.
The father works hard to support the family despite having limited English. The mother has a hearing disability and speaks very little English, making it difficult to access services. Their daughter has autism and is non-verbal, requiring ongoing care and support.
After covering moving costs and essential living expenses, the family cannot afford basic household necessities. Community support will help them establish a safe and stable home as they rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. They are grateful for any assistance that helps them feel settled and secure
