My client is a survivor of domestic and family violence, which has left her with severe anxiety, especially when leaving the house, as she often feels watched or followed. She came to Australia hoping to build a safe life with her husband, but instead experienced emotional and verbal abuse from him and his family. Although she has escaped the relationship, she is now facing significant financial hardship. She cannot afford her rent and is relying on temporary accommodation, leaving her at ongoing risk of homelessness. Her laptop and phone recently broke, limiting her ability to apply for essential services. Support from GIVIT would greatly assist her stability.
