Man impacted by the 2022 floods is now experiencing homelessness and significant financial hardship while living on the Disability Support Pension. With the rising cost of living, he is struggling to meet basic daily needs and has been unable to regain stable housing. Despite these challenges, he has made remarkable progress over the past year, maintaining sobriety for over 12 months after completing rehabilitation. This reflects a strong commitment to rebuilding his life and creating a more stable future. He also lives with the ongoing effects of a head injury, resulting in complex medical needs that limit his capacity to work and increase barriers to housing. Without additional support, these combined challenges place him at risk of ongoing homelessness, despite his clear efforts to improve his circumstances.
