Elderly Farmer Needing Fencing Materials
An older resident living on a modest income continues to experience hardship following a devastating bushfire. Although her home was saved, she lost a shed, vehicle, caravan, garden, animals and extensive property fencing. Much of the fencing remains damaged or incomplete, leaving the property unsecured and creating a serious risk that her dogs could escape onto the road. Her ducks, chickens and other animals also cannot be safely contained. She is proud and independent, and accepting assistance does not come easily. Limited mobility and an inability to drive create further barriers to accessing services and collecting supplies. Insurance does not cover all her losses, and the cost of replacing the fencing is beyond what she can manage. Assistance with fencing materials or rural-supplier vouchers would help restore safety, privacy and security.
