I have been supporting a single parent family who has a significant domestic and family violence background and have also experienced mental health and severe economic challenges to acquire a 29" or larger size mountin bike so that the 15 year old son is able to ride to the train station to then access his flexi school. He has attended very well when he was able to borrow a friend's bike but this is no longer an option and now his attendance has dropped significantly. He is engaging in program very well when he attends but struggles with the long walk from home to the train station and mum does not have a vehicle or licence and there is no public transport from home to the train station.
