Three children and their mother have experienced ongoing hardship since the 2022 Northern NSW floods. Their home was impacted by floodwater, with continuing concerns around mould and power surges that have contributed to damage and loss of household belongings. The need to repeatedly replace essential items has placed significant pressure on the family’s finances and made it difficult for them to recover and get ahead.
The family has recently engaged with Family Preservation Services and is working towards goals that support family functioning, stability and reducing the impact of neglect on the children.
The family’s refrigerator has recently broken down, resulting in the loss of food and creating an immediate need for a replacement fridge. Assistance would provide the family with a safe and reliable way to store fresh food and reduce financial stress while they work towards greater stability.
