Our unit provides care for people experiencing acute mental illness, many of whom are also facing homelessness, financial hardship, or other significant social challenges. It is not uncommon for consumers to be admitted with very few personal belongings, and some have no access to essentials like clean underwear, socks or suitable clothing.
To help restore dignity and support recovery, our unit provides essential items to consumers during their admission and where possible upon discharge. These items can make a meaningful difference to a person’s comfort, wellbeing and confidence as they transition back into the community.
