Death of Parent, Mental Illness, Disability, Homelessness, Ongoing medical costs, Financial Distress, No support network,
This young mother and her son are in immediate crisis. She is grieving the traumatic loss of her partner, who died by suicide in their family home. While processing profound shock and heartbreak, she is also supporting her young son through his own confusion and grief. Her son has significant additional needs, including Autism and ADHD, requiring regular medical appointments, ongoing treatment and medication. These supports rely on stability and routine — something they no longer have. Without stable housing and without a driver’s licence, even basic tasks like accessing groceries, medical care and prescriptions have become overwhelming. She is traumatised, displaced and parenting a child with complex needs alone. The emotional and financial strain is immense. This family urgently needs compassionate support to regain stability and meet their most basic needs during this devastating time, so they have a chance to begin rebuilding safely and with dignity.
