A mother and her child are rebuilding their lives after fleeing domestic and family violence and seeking safety in temporary accommodation. At the same time, this mother is living with a serious, life-limiting illness requiring ongoing medical treatment.
Due to her residency circumstances, she has no work rights, no access to Medicare and receives very limited financial assistance. She is required to cover the costs of private health care for her ongoing treatment, placing significant pressure on an already very limited income. Most of the money she receives goes directly towards medical bills and basic necessities such as food and everyday living expenses for herself and her child.
With little to no money left after these essential costs, this family is experiencing significant financial hardship. Donor support would help ease some of this pressure and provide meaningful practical support as this mother continues caring for her child, managing her health and rebuilding their lives
