The client is a 29-year-old Aboriginal woman who was previously homeless and “ couch surfing after fleeing Domestic Violence. She was unable to go back to the family home following the death of her father, which led to a significant decline in her mental health and prevented her from sustaining employment (she has since been medically exempted from work while she receives support).
Over the past 4 weeks of the Christmas period , the client acquired permanent stable housing but lacks essential household items due to ongoing financial hardship and the costs associated with leaving an unsafe environment.
The client has experienced psychological trauma as a direct result of domestic violence, which has, Reduced her ability to work and generate income, Isolated her socially and emotionally and contributed to ongoing mental health impacts requiring support / counselling
