South Sudanese NDIS worker recovering from workplace injury and homelessness

Faheem* (alias for privacy) escaped the war in South Sudan and established a respected life in Australia studying, working and contributing to the community as a NDIS support worker. When he returned to Sudan to see his parents and family, a civil war broke out and he was trapped and unable to return home for 5 long years. He could not communicate with his housing provider and lost his home and everything he owned. Again, he rebuilt, working in the Northern Territory providing care to the community. After experiencing a horrific workplace accident, he was airlifted to Melbourne for urgent, life-saving surgery. But when he awoke, he had permanent injuries to his lower back resulting in chronic pain, immobility, and he was once again homeless. Faheem remains hopeful and resilient, due to his spirituality. He has found housing and hopes to be granted surgery. He is studying law and remains a respected and valued member of our community. Please help him rebuild his life!
