A young Aboriginal woman has been advised by her cardiologist, through the public hospital system, to obtain an Apple Watch to assist in monitoring her cardiac electrical rhythm, heart rate, and blood pressure. This device is recommended to support improved management of her Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
She is currently experiencing frequent hospital admissions due to difficulty managing her symptoms, and access to an Apple Watch would provide her with greater independence and enhance her ability to self-manage her chronic health conditions.
These health challenges are occurring alongside multiple other stressors, including limited family support and additional chronic medical issues.
