First Nations Support
Our service currently supports a young family, with a 15-month-old and a new born baby (1 week old). The family became homeless as they were unable to afford the private rental they were residing in. The family had minimal family supports and began couchsurfing in a studio apartment while they were pregnant with their first child. The young mum has aged out of our program and there are minimal to no financial support to people over the age of 25. The young father is still supported in our program. He is only on Centrelink income and is actively seeking employment and engaging with job providers for opportunities. They are amazing parents, putting their needs of their children first, however their financial situation is causing their mental health to decline. Any donations for food would be greatly appreciate and would alleviate a lot of their stresses.
