She has been a victim of financial abuse and coercion control in her previous relationship which has left her in complete financial hardship. Apart of the ex's attempts for control was taking her lawn mower. This is being used as a legal reason by him to take custody of the children and repossession of her house.
She is extremely frugal with her money but unfortunately her budget does not have any excess to be put towards a purchase of the lawn mower,
The yards condition was reported to council, and they have given her three weeks to have her yard mowed or face penalties for not doing so.
