First Nations Support
A young mother is currently navigating sudden and significant life changes while managing complex mental health and neurodevelopmental disabilities. After a breakdown in family support, she was required to quickly adjust to full‑time parenting without access to her child’s belongings or usual routines.
At the same time, she is facing housing instability and the ongoing effects of limited and inconsistent support in the past. Despite these challenges, she is making genuine efforts to stay engaged with services, attend medical appointments, and build stability for herself and her child. New supports are beginning to come into place, but progress takes time.
The emotional, physical, and practical demands of parenting alone, while managing serious health conditions, have placed her under significant strain. Additional community support during this critical transition would help reduce stress, improve safety, and give both mother and child a better chance at stability and wellbeing.
