Single young person living with chronic health conditions
First Nations Support
This young person grew up within the foster care system. Due to experiences of abuse prior to and within the care system, they developed several chronic health conditions. These health conditions are exacerbated by exposure to hot/cold conditions.
This young person now has little support from Child Protective services and no support from family. They receive a pension, and spend this carefully in order to get by. However, they are not able to save any money for additional needs.
Despite the odds, this young person was able to obtain stable housing for themselves, however their house has no heating or cooling. The lack of heating and cooling has begun to cause exacerbation of this young person's existing health concerns.
