A curious, and resilient 12-year-old girl started high school this year. She loves learning and is eager to explore new ideas, but the challenges she faces outside the classroom often make it difficult for her to fully engage in her education.
Recently, her family experienced a relationship breakdown, creating significant emotional and financial strain. The family has always struggled financially and currently live in public housing. With rising living costs and the pressures of raising children on a limited income, making ends meet has become increasingly difficult. Essential household expenses must be prioritised, leaving little capacity for major educational purchases.
As part of her schooling, she is required to have access to a MacBook with a minimum of 8GB RAM. While the school provides loan devices for use during class, students are generally expected to have their own device for ongoing learning. Providing her with a MacBook would remove a significant barrier to learning.
